During installing Fedore Core 5 when it said to put my root password in the keyboard i was using would do like typing a letter at time it would do several characters instead of 1. What should I do hep is wanted with this question.

If typing characters before didn't have this behavior, I'd think it would be a way of fooling whoever is looking over your shoulder trying to know the length of your password.
