help about updating fedora15 to fedora18

Hi recently I have installed Fedora15 X86-64 on AMD FX 4100 machine. Can you please suggest a procedure to upgrade my system to Fedora18 X86-64.

Regards,
Rupesh.

to upgrade

read the install guide
http://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/...ide/index.html

1) BACKUP important data ( photos,music,excel files,...)
2) see #1
3) see #2
4) download the fedora 18 install dvd
5) burn the iso to dvd
6) reformat the harddrive to ext4 format
7) install fedora 18
8) import your back up music,photos,... into fedora 18

right now I have installed VMware workstation in fedora15. Is there any procedure to backup VMware files so after installation of fedora18 I need not reinstall guest operating systems.

You will most likely need to install a newer version of vmware on fedora 18
or at least do a new install to reconfigure VMware to the new OS and the new naming scheme for the network connections
and to use udev and not the older init system

fedora 18 is very different than 15

then in 6 months redo all the work to install fedora 19 , and so on every 6 months .
