GRUB problem/reinstalling Fedora
I recently played with partitions and I messed up my boot loader so I had to fdisk /MBR to boot into windows, but now I can't start FC4.I tried booting from FC4 DVD and:
linux rescue chroot /mnt/sysimage grub root (hd0,5) setup (hd0,5) and then it said like found both grub stages but it couldn't write embdd ... or something. Then I tried grub-install /dev/hda but it still won't work.I really don't want to delete FC4 so I'm asking you for help. Also, if I re-install FC4 will it overwrite my home dir and files in it? Anyway, how should I fix this? |
grub
root (hd0,5) setup (hd0) quit try that :) |
That didn't work :( .Thanks for the reply.
