GRUB, Fedora, and First Boot...
I decided that I wanted to do a dual boot with Ubuntu and Fedora 7. I have installed Ubuntu and am currently using it. With Fedora, I have installed the files to my hard drive but have not been able to do the first boot from the hard drive that is normally used to finish the install. I am using the Ubuntu installed GRUB and chose to not install the Fedora GRUB. I think I am have my GRUB entry wrong but I am not sure. What I have now causes a kernel panic.
Here is my partition table:
Quote:
Disk /dev/hda: 320GB
Sector size (logical/physical): 512B/512B
Partition Table: msdos
Number Start End Size Type File system
1 32.3kB 526MB 526MB primary ext3 (Shared /boot)
2 526MB 86.6GB 86.0GB extended
5 526MB 42.5GB 41.9GB logical ext3 (Ubuntu /)
6 42.5GB 43.5GB 1077MB logical linux-swap (Ubuntu swap)
7 43.5GB 85.5GB 41.9GB logical ext3 (Fedora /)
8 85.5GB 86.6GB 1077MB logical linux-swap (Fedora swap)
3 86.6GB 320GB 234GB primary ext3 (Not Currently Used)

in grub you will need to change the kernel line to include
root=/dev/hda7
