My problem is that the gnome gui is booting very slowly (almost 10 minutes).
I can't figure out why. The boot procedure until the gui is going to be booted is normal.
May be wrong file type of the wallpaper. My Gnome desktop work +- good, only the screensarver area: don't list any.
Other problem can be: erroneos video card drivers installed. If generic drivers is load for ATI (for example), the limit is 800*600
Could be a lot of things. I usually just back up and wipe my .gnome dir. Don't worry, it will rebuild a default. Have another window manager or be familiar with the terminal just in case.
ok, I have tried everything, screensaver out, no wallpaper, and created a new profile, didn't change anything, it still needs a lot of time when it boots.
