GNOME and KDE not working on Fedora Core 2.
I get errors while starting GNOME/KDE on Fedora 2. I can start Xfce and Fluxbox, but the others will not work...
I get errors that they cannot write to ./ICEauthority , both in KDE and GNOME. Does anyone know what I could do? |

Hello,
I ran into this same problem. Not sure exactly what causes this, but I googled up a way to fix it.. I think if you go to your /home/"user" dir and rm ICEauth*c and ICEauth*l you will be able to log into KDE and GNOME fine. I think this has something to do with the permissions, but I'm not really sure.. This seems to be a common problem. Its some sort of bug with fedora , KDE, or GNOME or all three. Just remove the two ICEauthority.c and ICE*.l files and that should fix it.. gplacek |
