GFX Confusion (pic included)

Hi guys

I currently use Fedora 1 but was hoping to move to fedora 3. When i try installing fedora 3 i get a problem with the graphics.

The display is all messed up...

Every other distribution i have tried has correctly detected my gfx and monitor.

GFX: S3 Graphics ProSavageDDR
Monitor: Standard 1024*768 TFT

What would be causing this problem? GFX or Monitor?
How can i work around this problem?

Cheers in advance for any help i recieve

edit: smart-a** solution not relevant, after another look i see laptop... good luck...

-- though i'm not familiar with FC, it looks like it's all there, just squeezed to the left... perhaps you can finish the install and worry about the display later?

tried that, its one hell of a bitch, i got to selecting my keyboard layout then gave up

Is fedora 3 a pain on a laptop? then reasing i want to try a new disto is that my external cdrw(pcmcia) drive is not detected.

It was detected on mandrake just fine so im hoping a fedora 3 may detect it.

You should be able to install and then edit your xorg.conf and install any graphics drivers....

I installed Fedora Core 3 on my laptop a couple weeks ago, and i had a similar issue with the display being warped during the graphical boot option.

Have you tried installing in text mode?
Have you tried pushing F4 (or any of the other boot options you get)so you can install in graphic mode at a specific resolution (i'm sure this is what i did to make it work for me)

The beginning of this guide helped me a bit, since i am still pretty much a noob with this whole linux thing.
