Getting the Linksys WUSB600N ver. 2 working on Fedora

This post will explain howto get the Linksys WUSB600N ver. 2 working in Fedora.
The WUSB600N ver. 1 will work with the RPMfusion kmod drivers, BUT!! not
the WUSB600N ver. 2 , the Chipsets are different.

You have to go to this Website http://www.ralinktech.com/support.php?s
and get the RT3572USB driver for Ver. 2 of WUSB600N. after you download the driver you will see it is actually 2010_0709_RT3572_Linux_STA_v2.4.0.1 .tar.bz2 put it in a Folder and extract it there.

The only two files that are modified is the Make and /os/linux/config.mk . make new files and copy and paste the contents below into
each file.

If you want the corrected driver.tar.bz2 I will send it to you and all you will have to do is , make , make install. binarynut@comcast.net

Contents are Below (both files)
They are separated by dashed lines.

do a ;

make

make install

and do a:

blacklist of your old Wireless driver in /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf

And finally plugin the WUSB600N Vers 2 .

AND REBOOT.

I want everyone to know that the driver for the WUSB600N ver.2 ,that I posted above , also compiled without any Errors on a X86_64. Except for a couple of dependencies that Yum took care of easily.

You should contact Fedora team and let them know what you changed, and maybe create and maintain that driver for Fedora with their help?

make

Hello mikeyboa, this sounds quit helpful but the "make" doesn't work on my box: uname -r gets 2.6.34.7-61.fc13.i686.PAE

and the error that the make outputs shows that it can't find

/lib/modules/2.6.34.7-61.fc13.i686.PAE/build/include/linux/modversions.h

There is no include dir or symlink to the "include" after the ...PEA/build" at all. After some googeling I learned that versioning is done different with kernel 2.6.

So, how could you build?

Many thanks in advance,
Gemma

Thanks for your reply!

There has something changed but the make still produces tons of errors:
