Getting error pop up playing vcd mplayer

When I play a vcd using gmplayer the video plays fine. But I get a pop up error message saying: ioctl dif1: Invalid argument. The vcd itself plays fine.

I also get something about RTC init error when running gmplayer from terminal.

Here is summary of the terminal output:

MPlayer 1.0pre8-4.1.1 (C) 2000-2006 MPlayer Team

Any ideas on what's causing the RTC init error and the ioctl dif1 errors?

I don't have any dvds with me only the vcd. So I don't know if it is a vcd issue or more general.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

I think it's more general, I get those as well, it doesn't seem to affect it's ability to play DVDs or avi files so I haven't been too concerned, but I look forward to any answer.

I have the same problem and am currently searching for a solution. This only happens with gmplayer.

For example, my cd drive is /dev/hda

To play a vcd with gmplyer I run
# gmplayer vcd://2 -cdrom-device /dev/hda

If I run mplayer without the GUI like so...
# mplayer vcd://2 -cdrom-device /dev/hda

the vcd starts playing without the error message.

This leads me to conclude that this error message is specific to the settings associated with gmplayer.
