Full Screen 3D/ATI & FC2

I am attempting to run 3D games such as Armagetron and UT2004 in FC2. I have managed to install the latest ATI drivers, verified by a simple fglrxinfo. I am also able to run Armagetron in a window. However, whenever either Armagetron or UT2k4 attempts to go to full-screen I am left with a black screen, and have to Cntrl-Bkspc in order to restart the X server. Can someone offer any help?
