IS it a sata drive?
How long did you wait before rebooting? I would wait at least ten minutes to see if it boots. Brian1 |

Not sure if FC5 is using kudzu anymore or not. Kudzu is one of the tools for autodetecting hardware changes on boot up. I would boot up in rescue mode and goto /etc/rc.d/rc3.d and rc4.d and rc5.d. In each directory rename S**kudzu to K95kudzu. This will stop kudzu from starting up.
You might be able to issue the commnad ' chkconfig --level 345 kudzu off '. Does the same as above but in a single commnad. Reboot and if it still hangs look in /etc/modprobe.conf and rem out things like USB or Firewire. Put a # at the begginning of the line. Brian1 |
