Hello,
I'm having some problems with 3 PCs with the exact same hardware configuration running on Fedora Core 2 with all software updates installed.
When I do a reboot using the "reboot" command everything shuts down but the system hang on message "restarting system" just before the reboot normally occurs.
The problem only happens when no keyboard is installed!
The motherboard used is a Chaintech MPM800-3 with the latest BIOS.
Anyone has the same problem and knows how to fix this?
Thanks a lot!

According to the hardware specification for PC motherboards its not permissable to unhook the ps/2 devices while the system is running due to the IRQ polli
ng scheme the chipset has set. In other words, the system will lock up if the mouse or keyboard is disconnected while the system is turned on.
Are you shutting down the system remotely and they have no keyboards or are you unhooking the keyboard while it's on after you issue the
shutdown -h now command? If it's the latter I've already explained what will happen.
