Flash Install Problem (FC5)

Ok, I first went into Firefox and got the plug-in like I usually would in FC4 and after the install, it would still not play flash animations. So, I went to the Flash player download page and got the .installer file and ran that, and still, Firefox still does not recognize the flash plug-in. Has anyone encountered this before?

Thanks in advance

Warren Togami of Redhat sent out this email yesterday to the Fedora announce list:

For users of Fedora Core who have upgraded to FC5, you may want to upgrade to flash-plugin-7.0.63-1 which properly handles integrating with firefox-1.5.x contained in FC5.

I have an official agreement with Macromedia to repackage their binary for easy integration into Fedora and make it available in a yum repository here. You can easily keep up with this and future security updates by adding this yum repository to your /etc/yum.repos.d/.

13. How do I setup yum to install this package automatically on Fedora?

Fedora yum users, simply save this file in /etc/yum.repos.d/
then type yum install flash-plugin

If you have not already done so go to "System" > "Administration" > "Security Level and Firewall". Enter your root password and click "ok". On the "SELinux" tab click on "Modify SELinux Policy", click on "Compatibility" to open it and tick the check box next to "Allow the use of shared libraries with Text Relocation". Click "ok". Reboot your machine to implement the new SELinux policy.

fc5, flash, macromedia
