First boot -FC5 Freezes

Everytime I try to load Fedora 5 for the first time, the progress bar gets to "Starting first-time boot configuration" and then the system locks up.

IN the terminal window, it stops after the line,
Quote:
/usr/share/firstboot/modules/eula.py:74: GtkDeprecationWarning: gtk.TRUE is deprecated use True instead
self.vbox.pack_start (internalVBox, gtk.TRUE, 5)

Okay so I added int 3 to start in the console and it worked. Once I logged in I ran startx and it works now. I tried running the display manager and it locks up again.

I am running a radeon all in wonder x800 agp.

No luck yet?
I'm having the same problem.. it locks up after about 5-6 similar errors that you posted. I can't get past it and I haven't any idea what you mean by "so I added int 3 to start in the console". I'm using a Sapphire Radeon x800 as well. Seems ATI and Linux don't get along very well.
-- this is for Fedora Core 5 as well.

The same happening to me when I try to run cedega games. It related to Python and may be linked with Radeon (ATI Radeon 9200SE). BTW, now I compiled new kernel, but not tested cedega yet, may be today in the evening will do. (FC5 x86_64

Exclamation

I am having the EXACT same problem as sidebuster.

Did you have any success? I realize this is an old post but this exact problem turns up nothing in the search.

Anxiously awaiting as I am very n00bish.

Now, I'm happy Nvidia user . Everything works correctly, even with wine.
