Firefox 1.5 -- How Long Til It's Added to Repositories?

Hello:

I have been anxiously awaiting the release of Firefox 1.5, and now I'm waiting on it to show up in the Fedora repositories. Does anyone have any insight into when the package should show up?

Thanks.

rpmfind still has the firefox rpm in the development stage so it might take sometime before we see it.

I'm not going to compile firefox but instead wait for the yum install. Just do not want ot break anything referencing future updates.

You can always download the tarball, extract it, then run the from that directory; no need to compile.

Does anyone know what is happening with running plugins FlashPlayer and jre in the X86-64 Firefox.
Right now you have to download the x86-32 bit Firefox to
have plugins of Flash and jre in X86-64.

Nothing is "happening" with them at all. They are proprietary software, and the companies that make them (Macromedia and Sun, respectively) don't give enough of a shit about Linux on x86_64.

It's in the developement repo. I used yumex as there are some other upgrades along with it to support the Fedora version of things.

I pulled down the tarball a couple of days ago, installed it, and had only a few problems, all related to extension bugs (e.g., "adblock" needed to be installed from the adblock home site for a bug fix not yet in the Mozilla repository, and my favorite theme ("Silver Skin") is not yet converted to 1.5).

But I've had no problems from FC4 while using FF 1.5.

Edit: Opps! Just found one: I just tried to open a new FF (using a different profile, in a seperate session), and FF wouldn't let me do it. I suspect that this is a "feature" in 1.5. But it's somewhat anoying.

Flash will not work with firefox for the x86_64. Sun has both the SDK and JRE for X86_64 that work just fine. If you want firefox-1.5 for your system then visit;
