File System sharing

[Log in to get rid of this advertisement]
I'm looking for advice..

I am changing my configuration from a windows system to a duel boot. I will have a 500GB (data) drive and 2 80 gb drives, one for each OS...

What type of File-system should the 500GB drive be partitioned as to be able for both OS's to write to with no corruption?

My hopes are to phase out windows and convert to full linux once I make sure I can get all my apps to run.

Thanks in advance
Endo

I believe Fat32 is the most well supported by Linux. Although NTFS is very well supported in most modern Linux Distros.

PS: Fat32 as a file limit size of 4GB and a total disk size limit of 127GB, so I think ntfs is the most suitable.

I've read there was some possible corruption using NTFS, has this been fixed?

The ntfs-3g is very stable, and I think all major issues are now fixed.
You can have a look at the ntfs3g quality page http://www.ntfs-3g.org/quality.html
