Hi, I have just installed Fedora 8 (actually upgraded from fedora 7) and I have one last package to update and that is system-config-firewall. I try to do so but get the following errors:

file /usr/share/locale/ar/LC_MESSAGES/system-config-firewall.mo from install of system-config-firewall-1.0.12-2.fc8.noarch conflicts with file from package system-config-firewall-tui-1.0.8-3.fc8.noarch
file /usr/share/locale/as/LC_MESSAGES/system-config-firewall.mo from install of system-config-firewall-1.0.12-2.fc8.noarch conflicts with file from package system-config-firewall-tui-1.0.8-3.fc8.noarch
...

There are many more similar ones. What is the best way to resolve this? I tried renaming the files in question but this had no effect at all. The same errors were generated.

You probably need to try

yum remove system-config-firewall-tui

You can then reistall system-config-firewall-tui if you want

and see if that fixes things. Unfortunately, upgrades aren't always clean

What would be the side affects of removing firstboot and firstboot-tui? Wouldn't I run into problems next time I upgraded my system?
