Fedora NTFS ?


How can i make Fedora read NTFS ?? i'v installed FC3 recently and my windows partition (NTFS) mount is not there ! and i can create one! do i have to recompile the kernel to work with NTFS?

yes, recompiling is a good wayto do it.

Another (much more easier) way is to go to this page http://linux-ntfs.sourceforge.net/rpm/fedora3.html

Download the rpms for your kernel. And read the link Instructions on how to install support for NTFS. It will take you about 5 minutes and you will be able to read the files from NTFS. However writing to NTFS is still not possible in Linux (well you can try, but no guaranties are here ) Good luck!

hello

i heard there was a project that allowed writing to NTFS... does anyone know about it ?

In mandrake you can read and write to NFTS... using captive NFTS.
