I don't know what happened here because it was working fine till I made a change to the Network program. I just deleted all the DNS entries because someone on here told me to and I could just use SAMBA instead. Now every time I boot into Fedora it gets hung on CUPS for five minutes then it goes to sendmail and does the same. Can someone please tell me what to do here?
What do you mean, you deleted the DNS stuff? Did you edit certain configuration files, is that it? Never do that unless you know what you are doing and don't take anyone's word unless they look like the experienced type of user...
Sendmail certainly looks for a DNS server when it starts and I think CUPS does the same so I'd suggest that you put the address of your DNS server back and try again. Also if you are not actually using sendmail (i.e. are you hosting your own email server) then you can set that service not to run when you boot up.
The program I was using to access the Networking options was called "NEAT". Since I couldn't boot into Fedora directly and I didn't know how to use the Rescue cd I just re-installed Fedora Core 6 again. There should be some kind of documentation on booting into Fedora with the Rescue cd that is easy to understand by a noob like me. Everyone assumes you know how to do everything in Fedora. What was I supposed to do in my situation? The boot process never froze but it never got past sendmail and would spend a lot of time on cups.
