Fedora FC2 Mouse driver on Older PC
Dear Fedora afficianados,
I have been attempting to upgrade my Linux (Linux and W98 dual boot)
system on my AMD K2 586 system.
I can get Redhat distribution 7.3 to work just fine but with Fedora FC2,
now the install screen can not find my mouse. Yes I have used their menu
to manually select a mouse type (and tried the usual suspects) but still
when I go to the next phase of the instalation the X windows curser will not move.
Are there some things I could manually do to configure my mouse.
Would already having the partitions that would hold the Fedora, previously
holding RH7.3 cause this probem ? (I.e. do I need to erase the old distributon first before installing. ) I really have no data on it that I need to
back up. But I do have data on my W98 partition that I must not loose.
One thing that motivates me to upgrade is that I have heard that Fedora
FC2 can do DSL, and I have SBC DSL.
P.S. I tried to get "Linspire" linux to install on this machine and in that case
had big problems geting the graphics card(s) to work. I tried 3.
Well I was hoping I would not run into any hardware roadblocks with
Fedora on my old 586 machine but now it is the mouse.
Thanks for your kind guidance,
Joe
