Fedora Core 7 Live x64 image 700MB+

I've decided to come back to the good o'le redhat/fedora after my little fling with Ubuntu but have hit a snag. I'm not sure if its me (odds are it is) but I would normally expect a Live cd image to fit onto a cd overburn or not, 650mb or 700mb disc. Is it too much to think a live disc should be burnable off the bat and runnable with a minimum of fuss. Is this not what everyone else expects too? This is not the case for the Fedora Core 7 x64 image. What are my options? can anyone help.

thanks.

P.S - sorry for the little rant

So basically you're just using those 7 lines to say that the image file is bigger than 700MB? Did you try to burn it [to a cd-rw], does it fit or not? I've seen somewhere slightly too big size but apparently it was a calculation problem, as it burned to the disc and uset it 100%.

Another option: burn the cd image onto a DVD. Yes, that's possible. If you're on Windows, use a program called imgburn which will happily do the job without asking stupid questions Nero will not, I'm afraid. On Linux..I'm not so sure.

I dont have windows or nerolinux on any system in my house and using cdrecord "k3b" the image wouldnt fit on a 700mb cdr with the overburn option enabled. There must be an option that wouldn't require windows I'm sure.

IF you have a DVD-writer, then you can burn it to a DVD with "Burn DVD ISO" option in K3B. Other than this have you tried Gnomebaker?

Code:
yum install gnomebaker

OK, it's a LiveDVD not a LiveCD. Feel better now?

I used a 1.4GB mini-DVD-RW disc. Fits in my shirt pocket.

Great thanks, Like I said, it's probably me, and silly me for thinking it was a cd image. I've already told k3b off for keeping secrets

burning image

I used a dual layer hard drive and burned the complete fedora core 7 on one DVD-R 120min.4.7gb.
I would first check your download size versus the size listed on the web site. If this is correct remember you are burning an iso image file. Use a 80min. 700MB cdrom.
