Fedora core 7: I cannot access internet.

I just installed FC7 on desktop. Booted up: received error 15 file not found. Desktop came up fine, but when i wanted to get into the internet. Firefox came up and started updating languages. I thought this was strange. Currently, i cannot access the internet. Appreciate any assistance to overcome this issue. Thanks...

Hello and Welcome to the forums!

First of all its Fedora 7 and not FC7.
Anyhow, you must provide us with more information to help you. How exactly do you connect to the internet, is it lan or a direct dsl connection, dial up, wifi etc. Also provide us the details on how you setup the connection.

Hi,
I installed Fedora core 7 on my laptop, in windows the modem is installed on Com 3 port, so i assumed in Linux it should be on /dev/ttys2......but connecting it via Dial up, it says the modem is busy...infact i tried on all the ports ttys1 and ttys0...i get the same feedback that the modem is busy......

I tried to setup the Dailup connection using KPPP
please help me on this because i have been desperately finding a solution for this.

What kind of modem? If it is a software modem (my laptop has a software modem), then it is probably not usable.
