fedora core 4 problem

i have problem in booting graphical FC4.
i can not start xserver.
i can work with command.
but my system boots with a white screen and then hangs.

my system details are:

170MB RAM.
celeron processor.

i can not start kde or gnome.
i know i need more than 200 to start kde or gnome.
i think the problem is with low RAM.
is there any way to fix it?

#startx -- :2 or 3

the system starts xserver well.
hangs with white screen.
again when i switch to CTRL+ALT+F1 OR F2 i have a one kind of screen.i can not read anythink.

so how to fix it.?

I think you hit the nail on the head. RAM is most likely the issue. It should be relatively easy to upgrade.

I don't think so, my brother installed FC4 on machine with only 160 Mb RAM, PII 400 Mhz. I think, its mainboard related trouble or most likely video card. Good luck!

Can you put the info that X gives during boot up on here? Should be in a log file someplace.

Code:

$ cat /var/log/Xorg.0.log
