Exclamation Fedora Core 2 Kernel Panic: Attempt to kill init!

Ok I am brand new to Linux. I'm trying to get Fedora installed on my PC. I tried installing Fedora Core 1 first. Fedora had a conflict with my Radeon 9800 AIW. I read that Fedora Core 2 solved the conflict so I tried installing that. After I put the CD in no matter how I try to install (graphic, text, no probe) I always get the error message "<0> Kernel Panic: Attempt to kill init!" I cannot find a way past this.
