Fedora Core 2 + KDE, canīt set mouse pointer size in .Xdefaults

Hi,

Iīve created the file ~/.Xdefaults with a line saying īXcursor.size: 48ī.
In RH9, this was enough to get a bigger mouse pointer - itīs not working in FC2.
When the mouse enters the window of some applications (for example, KPPP), the mouse pointer is set to the right size, but it shrinks back when the mouse exits that window.

Any idea?
