Unhappy Fedora Core 2 Inspiron 1100 USB HUB

Has anyone successfully connnected an USB HUB to an Inspiron (1100 in my case) and had FC2 recognize the HUB?

The devices that I connect to the Inspiron work without the HUB, but not through the HUB. I have tried a couple of different HUBS to no avail. I would like to just buy a HUB that is known to work. Has anyone had success doing this? If so, please tell me the make & model number of your HUB.

Thank You,

Rusty

This Linux Magazine artical covers USB basics for the guru - important info about USB hubs (like - run them on their own psu: do not draw power off the bus) and how to enable support for usb 2.0 and so on. It is a well written article that takes you carefully through the levels of understanding and finishes with references. Enjoy.
