Fedora Core 2 and Windows partitions
After I installed FC2 in my laptop/desktop, I'm not able to access my windows partitions at all.
In my old Red Hat days, I used to install some Linux-NTFS driver, which would allow me to name those partitions. The windows in question being Windows 2000 & XP. I couldn't find that driver now. Where can I find such drivers for FC2 or is there a tweak involved, which I've missed ? Thanks, Kramer. |
Since I'm not using NTFS ;) I'm not that great expert in this, but this could help you:
http://linux-ntfs.sourceforge.net/rpm/fedora2.html Friends of mine use it and it's working. Hope this helped! Boby |
NTFS support under FC2
All I did right after I installed FC2 was that I compiled a custom kernel(2.6.7 series) with NTFS (and EXT3 - This is important) built right into it. Reading NTFS works, I have not tried writing as I have been told it can only be used as a successful file shredder at this stage :). I do not have any experience with NTFS in the 2.6.8 series kernel.

Yes, now I remember this link and the magic it does. It just worked like a charm. Thanks so much. |
