Fedora Core 2 : 64-bit

I noticed they have a 64 bit version of FC2 out now. Has anyone used it? Is it worth getting? I was just wondering if they had already ported everything over or if it is in sort of a beta stage.

I'm installing it next week

I have just bought the component for my first Athlon64 pc. I am going to install Fedora Core 2 64 bit next week, after a school exam. Of course I hope everything will be fine, I will let you know.

Well, i tried to install the CD isos but i got some "kudzu unable to start error" after anaconda finishes formatting my drives...

I am downloading the DVD iso now, hoping that my first attempt was just some corrupted iso files...

Want to hear good news from you guys~

I'm starting thinking...

...that the installation will be a pain in the a**.

As an example, I excluded from the start to use the onboard integrated graphic card (I am a lucky owner of a Shuttle XPC SK83G http://tech-report.com/reviews/2004q...g/index.x?pg=1 ) which was surely enough for my kind of pc usage, because I have seen that VIA publishes the binaries only of the driver for the 32 bit release of FC 1 only, and not FC 2, and not 64 bit...

So I am going to use an old NVidia GeForce 3. Luckily NVidia released the latest drivers for the AMD64 platform, too, with a setup procedures that compiles them for you if needed.

I think this is only the beginning. If Linux drivers are usually difficult to find, guess what will happen with 64 bit Linux...
