Fedora 7 turns screen into a `dark oil painting`

Hey people, I have a problem after installing Fedora 7 on a PIII 600MHz, 192 Ram, laptop (lifetech). I am running Fedora 6 now again because after installing (or upgrading) Fedora 7 my screen turns into a `dark oil painting`. You can still move around and see the outlining but it`s nothing you want to work with. It has a silicon motion screen and the same drivers (for graphics card and screen options) are recognized by fedora 7 as in Fedora 6. So I don’t really see the problem. Is this a problem of a bad burn or something else? I also remember that I had the same problem installing Sidux. Maybe somebody else had the see problem. Both distro`s were just released (sidux and fedora 7).

Thanx,

Arch

Just a thought. Try a generic video driver? Maybe Fedora 7 doesn't like the proper video driver / kernel combination.
