Exclamation Fedora 7 and Wireless Card

Hi All,

(Still rather new to Linux)

I am trying to install my Linksys WMP54G card on Fedora 7. I am using the following tutorial: www-personal.umich.edu/~mejn/rt61.html, which i used when i had Fedora Core 6 and worked fine.

So far the installation has gone fine until i get to bringing the interface up. I get the following:

Quote:
[root@simie wireless]# ifconfig ra0 up
ra0: unknown interface: No such device
Now i am a bit stuck!!!
Any ideas??

Thanks,
SiMiE_G

Did you not see this, quoting from your link:

Kernel: Here's a crucial piece of information: this driver will not work under Linux kernel version 2.6.19 or newer.

Fedora 7 was released with the kernel-2.6.21-1.3194, your best bet is to install the dkms and dkms-diswrapper rpm packages and use the Windows driver for the device.

rpm -Uvh http://ftp.freshrpms.net/pub/freshrp....fc.noarch.rpm

yum install dkms dkms-ndiswrapper

http://ndiswrapper.sourceforge.net/joomla/index.php
Follow the Documents/Wiki link and review the Installation insturctions stating at install the Windows driver.
