Computer History
I run an Intel D865perl motherboard with 2.6 gig Intel processor with 1 gig of ram. Two 250 gig
hard drives. The first hard drive is for Windows XP. Second hard drive is for Fedora 6 and data backups.
Installation
I did a clean install of Fedora Core 6. When it booted into Run level 5 all I got on the monitor was Out of Range. I rebooted the install DVD and at the prompt enter linux rescue hit enter. Hit enter for English. Hit enter for us. Setup network select no. At the rescue screen select continue. Now you have a prompt sh-3.00# At the prompt type in chroot /mnt/sysimage hit enter.
I used VI editor to edit /etc/inittab file to change the run level to 3. Command as follows
vi /etc/inittab go to the first default run level and should be 5. Place your cursor there and press the insert key on the keyboard and change it to 3. Now hit esc and type :wq now your out.
Reboot then enter your root id and password.
At the prompt type rpm –ihv
http://rpm.livna.org/livna-release-6.rpm then hit enter.
Next type rpm --import
http://rpm.livna.org/RPM-LIVNA-GPG-KEY then hit enter.
Now test it to see if you get info about a release currently provided by Livna repository.
Type yum info kmod-nvidia then hit enter.
If you get the info move now to the next step.
Next type yum install yumex then hit enter.
Next type yum install xorg-x11-drv-fglrx kmod-fglrx glx-utils then hit enter.
When done change your /etc/inittab file back to run level 5 and reboot.
That’s what I had to do to get my Video card to work. I know there’s a simpler way to do this but it worked for me.
This info I found on

It also covers nVIDIA Drivers.
