Cool Fedora 3 USB problem with Linksys Adapter

I am using Fedora Core 3. I have four USB ports available. THey all work with my USB mouse. When I try to plug in my Linksys WUSB54G adapter it does not recognize the adapter. I go to the terminal window and type lsusb and there is nothing there, all 4 fields are 0000:0000. My mouse, when plugged in shows an address and a name of Microsoft.

Was I supposed to change the firmware in the device?

ANy help is appreciated. I see others are getting the device to work but I havent found this problem yet.

I have installed ndiswraper and have the drivers installed for the device, but I didnt check to see if the device was avaiable in the system before i installed the drivers. modprobe serves useless because there is no hardware.

thanks

Have you installed the relevant .inf windows file driver under ndiswrapper?

The driver shows installed. It has the newest ndiswrapper and linksys drivers. I tried multiple version of the linksys drivers.

The problem is that the device does not show active on my computer when it is plugged in and i run the command "lsusb" to list all usb devices. My USB printer shows up when i plug it in. I have also plugged the WUSB54G into a laptop that has the exact same version of Fedora Core and it shows up.

Is there a problem with the AMD processors and boards? The USB controller is a VIA.
