Fedora 3 No audio CD as non root

I have just installed Fedora 3. Audio Cd's play as root but not as a normal user. A similar thread doesn't seem to have produced a solution. There is just a "drive error" message.

Also totem says I can't play dvd's as I need to add plugins.

Any help would be appreciated.
