Fedora 18 Broadcom 4312 wireless issues after install

I did a good search of LinuxQuestions but didn't find a thread on this issue.

After installing Fedora 18 (Xfce) final, I added the rpmfusion repos for F18 so I could install the Broadcom 4312 wireless drivers. After adding the repo, I did the usual yum install broadcom-wl and the install appeared to go okay. After the install, unfortunately, the wireless isn't working. I've done this with previous releases of Fedora and never experienced an issue.

I submitted a bug report to the rpmfusion and Fedora folks but wanted to see if anyone else experienced this issue.

Hey there,

I have the same wifi and with FC17 followed all the steps and didn't have wireless until I rebooted my router. The problem I had was that the router would timeout during authentication - the logs in Fedora showed that and the logs on the router just showed that my laptop was trying to connect. I didn't have any reason to reboot the router other than I had tried everything else.

Hopefully, this is all it will take for you as well.

Thanks,
Skip

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, the wireless card isn't even recognized.

Unfortunately, no. And my apologies, I should have posted that info.
