fedora 17 preupgrade ran - no error - but system booted to f16

when Itold system to reboot
The grub options did not include f17
/boot/grub2/grub,cfg is not changed
but I find new directory /boot/upgrade
with following contents
Code:
[knox@knox ~]$ cd /boot/upgrade/
[knox@knox upgrade]$
[knox@knox upgrade]$ ls -l
total 174934
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 23956876 May 22 2012 initrd.img
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 262 Dec 6 19:04 ks.cfg
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 150560768 May 22 2012 squashfs.img
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 4611776 May 7 2012 vmlinuz
how do I get it to complete process?

Fedora has a page listing methods for upgrading F16 to F17. At the bottom of that page should be a list of gotchas. IIRC your problem is listed.

yep - sure enough - thanks much

grubby abends so you have to make your own grub.cfg files

both to run the interim f17 which loads the preupgrade results and subsequently to run f17

except for that the operation was smooth - tiny hitch - libreoffice lost its recently edited file - no big deal

again unSpawn - you solved my prob

Unless you never configured LibreOffice to make backups (at an interval?) check your ~/.config/libreoffice/3/user/backup directory?
