Fedora 17, got 2 mount entries from df for /
On my Fedora 17 box, the / has 2 entries:
[root@cos vncu]# df Filesystem 1K-blocks Used Available Use% Mounted on rootfs 25564448 5191308 20117184 21% / devtmpfs 1961100 0 1961100 0% /dev tmpfs 2003876 84 2003792 1% /dev/shm tmpfs 2003876 1796 2002080 1% /run /dev/sda1 25564448 5191308 20117184 21% / tmpfs 2003876 0 2003876 0% /sys/fs/cgroup tmpfs 2003876 0 2003876 0% /media I suspect this is not right and is the cause of problem of frequest filesystem corruption. But I can't find why it gets 2 entries. TIA. |
No that's normal, rootfs is part of the kernel's virtual file system.
https://www.kernel.org/doc/Documenta...-initramfs.txt For reasons I don't understand it has a physical and a virtual entry. |
also "wzis" it is WAY past the time to upgrade
Fedora 17 went end of life 6 months ago fedora 18 will be going end of life in a week or so ONLY fedora 19 and 20 are supported PLEASE stay current and do a new clean install of fedora 20 PS you can NOT upgrade from fedora 17 to 20 you need to do a new install |
@John VV is right - so I finally took his advice.
I have a separate /home partition, so the (clean) reinstall using my old userid was simple enough (not as intuative as say Ubuntu, but workable), and nice and quick. Do it - maybe. Looks like PackageKit could do with some polishing. |
