[SOLVED] Fedora 16 X86_84 : How to disable desktop icons from GNOME Desktop ?

Hello,

When I had first installed Fedora on my machine I had no desktop icons but recently I was using gconf editor to make some changes to current GNOME theme and I think I changed something there.

Is it possible to disable desktop icons because I really dont need them ?

Did you try using gnome-tweak-tool?

Code:

yum install gnome-tweak-tool

Under the option 'Desktop', you can disable icons on the desktop.

Yes, I did already but I couldn't find the option to disable the desktop icons.

Hey I got the solution off the Fedora Forum.

Here is the solution in case anyone else has the same problem.

Run this command as normal user.

Code:

gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.background show-desktop-icons false
