Does anybody know if its possible to get the Synaptic package manager working in Fedora 16 or 17? It worked just fine up to (and including) Fedora 15.
I know it was designed for Apt, but I never had a single problem with it in Fedora. I've tried all the other package managers, and I do miss Synaptic - to my eyes, it was just the one that did what I needed to do with the fewest mouse clicks, the best laid-out GUI, and the minimum of fuss. Purely personal preference, thats all.

Guys, thanks for the posts, but alas they don't actually answer my question! I'm familiar with using both Yum in the terminal and Yumex as a graphical package manager. My question was simply if its *possible* to use Synaptic.
And if its no longer possible to use Synaptic, that begs the obvious question - why, when according to what I've read in several places on t'Interweb Fedora are a bit short of packagers at the moment, is Synaptic still being packaged for the Fedora repositories if its of no use to man, woman nor beast??
