Fedora 15 (kde) user/password login fields won't appear.

Hello, I'm new to Fedora and Linux in general just for your information.

And my issue at the moment:

After installing Fedora 15 (kde) from a live-cd and then doing a software update the entry fields for user and password won't appear unless I hit alt+ctrl+del then hitting cancel then alt+ctrl+del to bring it up fully.

I'm on a Dell Latitude C610 1GHz CPU, 1GB SDRAM, 16MB ATI Radeon Mobile. If any of that helps.

And thanks in advance for any help.

Please explain yourself a little better

If you are in command line, the password prompt does not show * or any movement.
In the graphics mode, there should be some * as you enter the password

When installing from the live CD, you will be prompted for logon name and password. In the very worst case, the screen resolution will be the same as what you see during the installation.

Regarding a previous attempt at a humourous reply, there is no memory problem whatsoever. Even with 768k, there is enough. As for disk memory, you can get away with as little as 10gigs, but recommend 30gigs to whatever, to accomodate growth.
