Fedora 14 Shutdown hangs at "iptables unloading modules"
About 1 shutdown in 3, my PC just hangs and doesn't actually power off. If I hit "escape" early enough during this, the last output is "iptables unloading modules", and nothing else changes. Wait long enough and hitting escape will not do anything, but still computer does not shutdown.
I cannot determine exactly when it will and will not happen so I cannot reproduce the error on demand. |

Try out
IPTABLES_MODULES_UNLOAD="no" as a temporary change in /etc/sysconfig/iptables-config |

I suspect I was also having hardware issues. 6 HDD's connected, 2 of them were old IDE ones. When I mounted them occasionally my whole system would freeze, and a hard reset was the only thing that would recover it. I have also removed these two older drives. |
