Fedora 12: kmod-nvidia-PAE

Hey guys. I'm trying to get my 7800GS (AGP) working in Fedora 12. The default driver from NVIDIA will not install at all. Gives an error about nvidia.ko.

So I've tried to go kmod-nvidia. I followed this thread(http://www.mjmwired.net/resources/mjm-fedora-nvidia.html).

I ran a 'yum update' to get the latest everything. Reset, typed in rdblacklist=nouveau, reset, then tried 'yum install kmod-nvidia-PAE' it worked!

But now the computer does not have a screen. I had to SSH in to edit inittab to be runlevel 3.

Can anyone help me to get this nVIDIA driver installed?!

Fixed it.

All I had to do is remove all PAE kernels, and install the regular kernel, and bam, it worked.

But now the new question is: Is there a way to get kmod-nvidia-PAE working? I'd prefer to use a PAE kernel.

Moved to Fedora

Most of my Fedora installs are 32 bit, and all have PAE kernels. They all have had Nvidia proprietary drivers install on to them (up to F12 from F13 on I'm using nouveau/Gallium). Follow the four steps in this Fedoraforum Guide and the process is easy. I use the akmods, since they rebuild the modules automatically when a new kernel comes in.
