Fedora 10 , installed mysql server , it is up and running on localhost , unable to ac

on Feroda 10 , i have installed mysql server , using URL: it is up and running on localhost , unable to access from remote host. and also i am not finding any word #skip-networking in my.cnf file. when i am trying to access from remote host is is throwing error.."Error no:2003 Can't connect to mysql on 'hostname'(100065)". please can i have some solution on this.

hi, issue solved, firewall was blocking. i have disabled it , it is working fine..

you are aware that fedora 10 is 7 versions out of date
there IS and has been NO support for it since it went END OF LIFE on 2009-12-18
do NOT use a dead and unsupported Operating system
EVERY known AND fixed security holes will NEVER be fixed on fedora 10 it is DEAD

please STAY current and install the current Fedora 17

on the old 10 the rpm servers are being removed
there is basically almost no way to even install the OLD versions of programs
7 mirrors still up

but seeing as you want to install a mysql DB and looking at "the OLD perfect server" guide

you would do much better installing a LONG term support OS like CentOS6.3
centOS 6 has about 5 more years of support still on it

Actually i am new to linux and i got outdated dvd's. I am downloading the latest version now.
Please Suggest me how can i move forward in bilding my career as a linux admin.
