Fed 12 and update

I've had to do a re-install. Fed 12 works fine. BUT: when I go to updates, there are 521. No problem. Just, on reboot, the system stops, before it gets to the log in part, so I can't log in, can't do anything. It stops at 'loading ATD' Nothing else happens.

What is ATD? Anyone else had this problem?

Funnily, I tried Fed 13 Live CD, and that was also the same. Must be using the same ATD. Or is this just unlucky 13? They should have gone to 14!

Try pressing I, do an interactive startup and don't load it. ATD is one of those things like cron, Apache & portmap that are good ideas if you use them, but not needed on every box.
