FC8 + ndiswrapper

So I am about to rip my hair out over this wireless.

I was following This guide and when I get to "dmesg | grep wlan0" is when it doesnt do as its supposed to.

I believe I installed it correctly with "ndiswrapper -i bcmwl5.inf" and got

installing bcmwl5 ...
forcing parameter IBSSGMode from 0 to 2

Im not sure what is going wrong after this, but Im ripping my hair out and I really hate Broadcom right now!

Any ideas?

ok lets start at the beginning...

you installed the driver.

can you do a ndiswrapper -l (whatever the list command is) so i can see it please.

I'm assuming it installs fine.

now do ndiswrapper -m or ndiswrapper -d (i don't remember if what letter but basically there are two commands that write out the modprobe information. Try one, if it doesn't work do the other.)

after that do a depmod -a and reboot.

It's been awhile since i've used ndiswrapper. Have you tried the bcm4xx driver built into the kernel for broadcom cards?
