Question FC6 Dialup Drop

I have installed FC6 and the modem works fine but I can only connnect to my ISP, Google and ping addresses with no problem. If I attempt to go to a web page or get mail, it returns to a dialtone but the page still tries to load. I have to disconnect and redial to connect again. I have checked the message log and all I see is " lost compression sync". I can't find any error message that would point to anything. This same system works fine on FC5. Any ideas?

Dialup drop

I am using a SupraExpress 56e Pro external modem. The thing that puzzles me is that it communicates well except for the web.
