FC5 - Ffox 1.5.0.7 Java and Fash not working

Hi, I installed Firefox with yum, and subsequently tried to install Java and Flash plugins.

But it does not work, I did exactly what I was told on:

http://www.mozilla.org/support/firefox/faq

and I created all the symbolic links in the plugin directories, that i could find:

/usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/libjavaplugin_oji.so
/usr/lib64/firefox-1.5.0.7/plugins/libjavaplugin_oji.so
/usr/lib64/mozilla/plugins/libjavaplugin_oji.so
/usr/lib64/mozilla-1.7.12/plugins/libjavaplugin_oji.so

/home/bereziak/.mozilla/plugins/libjavaplugin_oji.so

I had to make the plugins directory for the last one.
It still does not work

I've put the libflashplayer.so and flashplayer.xpt in the same directories, but it's not working as well.

I encountered another weird problem previously: I couldn't view https-URLs but an upgrade of nss and reinstallation of firefox solved the problem.

I don't know what I should do next, since I placed the plugin files in virtually every directory, that has something to do with Firefox-plugins.

Please help.

For java/flash
http://stanton-finley.net/fedora_cor...otes.html#Java
Quote:
If you have not already done so go to "System" > "Administration" > "Security Level and Firewall". Enter your root password and click "ok". On the "SELinux" tab click on "Modify SELinux Policy", click on "Compatibility" to open it and tick the check box next to "Allow the use of shared libraries with Text Relocation". Click "ok". Reboot your machine to implement the new SELinux policy.
for https sites

>yum remove firefox
>yum update nss
>yum install firefox

As you can read in my Post, I allready did what you suggested to have https URLs accessible.

SELinux is disabled on my machine.

It still does not work.

the 'flash-plugin' is not found by yum, this package does not exist.
I installed it manually.

Maybe it is important, that i use th x86_64 version, maybe that's why so many things do not work.
They DID work on FC4, though.

You have the 64 bit version of firefox (/usr/lib64/firefox-1.5.0.7).You need to install the 32 bit version of firefox. It's been mentioned millions and millions of times that neither flash or java plugins will work if you have a 64 bit browser.
