FC5 add or remove program fails

One of the major problem dealing with fedora core is that the add or remove program (pirut) does not work at all.

In default mode it wont work unless you're online, to get it to work off CD you need to change base url in /etc/yum.repos.d/ from the url to baseurl=file:///media/cdrom/. Another suggestion was to install all the rpms to harddrive.
