My System Configuration: Intel Celeron 1.4 Ghz/256MB SDRAM/Seagate 40GB/Via trident Cyberblade Generic on-board VGA..

FC3 is working fine on my system but when i am going to install FC4,after probing for monitor type, mouse type etc , THE SCREEN CHANGES TO BLANK WHITE SCREEN and there is no response till restart.
Graphics screen doesn't come to click next to proceed for installation.

Currently using monitor type: Samsung 40bn
Tried with HCL 14'' and 15'' ,monitors.

Try doing the installation in text mode and then configuring your xserver after the initial boot.

Dear Sir,

Thank you for ur quick response.
I tried loading in text mode with Disk Druid,But one message comes after i partition and proceed for installation. The Message is:

"Error informing the kernel abt the changes u made to /dev/hdb8.The device or resource is busy...."

This message came for all the partitions i made manually and installation terminated.

However i became success in installation with Autopartition. But again i faced the same problem while booting,When graphics is abt to start, BLANK WHITE SCREEN COMES.

I entered in rescue mode and changed the file /etc/inittab for entering runlevel 3.It boot up successfully and i got login prompt. But when i entered startx, SAME PROBLEM...................................PLS HELP ME as i am new to linux and hence need the GUI.

Dear Reddazz,

Thank u a lot. I became successful to get GUI in FC4.Here's how i did.

As per that link i tried searching the file "libvgahw.a"on the ftp site but that file is not available there now.So i copied that file from my existing FC3 system and replaced in the specified directory of FC4.And it is working fine........

THANKING U AGAIN....

DIPU
