FC3 up2date says I'm updated but I'm not...

So the notification tool says I need to update x.org and some other things. However when I launch up2date it goes through the motions and then says "Your system is fully upated" and doesn't actually update anything. Is this just a matter of the default YUM paths FC3 uses doesn't have the newest packages yet? That would be silly if you ask me because that would mean that the notification tool is getting it's info from one place and the YUM packages from another...shouldn't those be in sync.

Any ideas?

Close it, retry.
The repository you connected to did not have the updates on it.
I have had to retry 2 or 3 times-connecting to a different repo.

Wish list item:

Force up2date to go to the repository that was checked and created the message that updates were available. Small annoyance, but one none the less.

Agreed, up2date could be good-if it worked at least 80% of the time the way it is suppose to.
Then again, maybe I just totally misunderstand what it is suppose to do :(

Patience is a virtue.
If it's not in the mirror up2date connects to, it soon will be.

Me - I use yum, and I don't bother with the notification thing. I remove it from the panel alltogether and just run yum update every few days.

I use apt/synaptic but keep the notification on so that i know when there are updates.

Thanks guys. This morning up2date is still saying I'm updated, so I used "yum update" and it worked.

On that note, has anyone tried to get "yummi" from cobind to work with FC3? It's the only GUI for yum that I know of and from testing it out on my laptop with Cobind it worked really well.
