FC3 mixer problems

For some reason my mixer doesn't work anymore, it says "Sorry no mixer elements and/or devices found". Please help!

BTW, I can set my mixer using aumix. Not really sure what's going on with the gnome mixer.

I had the same problem. From my research I did the following:

# system-config-soundcard
# gnome-volume-control

then check the gnome desktop applet (usually in the top right corner). If it still does not work, delete it and add a new one to the panel. Then,

#gst-register-0.8

this will reload all the plug-ins.
